Bingo

The Lexington Dolphins run bingo and sell pull-tabs every Thursday and Friday night at the Blue Grass Bingo Center. We have a state issued charitable gaming license and are obligated to obey all applicable gaming laws, as well as all IRS statutes.

Bingo is a major source of income for our team. Due to our bingo income, we are able to keep our fees lower than many area teams. However, it takes the efforts of our entire team to keep bingo running. Each family is asked to work a minimum number of Bingo sessions. Families with one swimmer in the white or yellow group are expected to volunteer 9 times per year. Families with a swimmer in the red or blue group or with more than one swimmer, in any group, will be expected to volunteer 12 times a year.

Anyone 13 and older can volunteer at bingo. Many of the red and blue group swimmers have been volunteering for years. Grandparents, siblings, friends can work your sessions, the team just needs to know that someone from your family will be there. If you should decide to stop swimming before the end of the season, you will still be expected to work the appropriate number of bingo shifts.

Bingo is only successful when we have an adequate number of volunteers.  There will be a list of available subs on the pool bulletin board.

When you are working Bingo, please arrive at the Bingo Hall on Clays Mill Road no later than 5:30 pm.  Bingo workers will work as pull tab sellers or cashier. The cashier position will
be included in just about everyone’s rotation because there is no training involved. All you have to do is know how to count. If anyone is interested in being trained to be a Pull Tab (PT) or Front Desk (FD) captain, please let Adair Mattingly know. These positions stay behind the desk and do not go out onto the floor to sell pull tabs.
